{Tea Time}

I hope everyone has had an enjoyable Memorial Day weekend! Thank you to those who are currently serving our country, those who have in the past and those who will in the future {including my favorite little brother-GO NAVY!}

What little {or big} girl doesn't like a tea party? Getting dressed up and being "fancy" have a few of my favorite things since a young age. The Fall before my sister and a few other family friends started kindergarten, my mom threw a "Back-to-School" Tea Party. The original party was a hit and therefore had to become an annual occassion! There were usually crowns of some sort involved and even our moms got involved! {See potentially embarrassing photos below-I'm the one sitting}

About a year ago, the last of the original Tea Party girls graduated college! In celebration, we decided to throw a Reunion Tea Party! To spice things up we also added the "Favorite Things" element. Each girl was instructed to bring 5 of her favorite things to be shared in a game played during the party.

{Brown paper packages tied up with string, these are a few of our favorite things}

Favorite Things included:
-Decorative Notecards
-Chocolate
-Starbucks Giftcards (!!)
-Books
-Scarves

For lunch my wonderful Mom made her famous chicken salad croissants, fruit salad, coconut macaroons (clean of course!) and many other yummy goodies! This pretty Tazo Passion Tea Lemonade was a must, as well!

Here is the 20-years-later reenactment of one of the first Tea Parties...

For those of you who follow me on Instagram, my dress was Jessica Simpson {from TJMaxx!} Similar here and a virtually identical necklace can be found here {mine was from TJMaxx}

Do you have any long standing traditions with family friends?

Hello Lovelies

Hello!

First of all, I'm so glad that you have arrived here at Real Life Fabulous. I'm Lindsey, a 20-something Midwestern girl with a heart for the East coast, everything nautical, girly and unique. I'm looking forward to sharing my passions with you and taking you all along on my journey of fashion, food, creativity and, ultimately, real life.

The goal of this blog is to chart the navigation of a real life girl learning the ins and outs of the world. I hope it will be a place you'll find inspiration, an appreciation for the beautiful things in life or even simply a smile for the day. My hope is that you will come away with ideas for how to make your real life fabulous.

 If you have any topic suggestions or questions for me please email me! I'd love to hear from each and every one of you.  Now that you're here, I hope you'll stay awhile and return often.
